Emma Part Two Outpost Nine Book 2 edition by Lolita Lopez Romance eBooks

I seldom like series, because each issue is typically abysmally short and lacks a plot. I am delighted to review a serial issue that breaks all of the typical rules. Although this is the 2nd piece of a larger whole, this piece has its own plot (rise, climax, fall) and is long enough to be satisfying. The ending left me wanting more, but did not have the typical cliffhanger feeling of stopping in mid-action.

When we last left our heroes, they had been distracted and thus taken by surprise by attacking zombies. We open with a delightfully written fight scene (another pleasure---the author knows enough about fighting to write a decent fight scene). What happens after the fight scene shows us more about the fascinating world that Ms. Lopez has created. That scifi/fantasy setting is much of what I like about this book, and the bits of romance & erotica are just icing on the cake. I won't say anything else about the plot except to say that it does have a consistent theme that is explored and developed---no easy capitulation or push-over personalities to short change your reading experience.

Emma Part Two Outpost Nine Book 2 edition by Lolita Lopez Romance eBooks Reviews

Not as good as the first book because it seems like Emma was throwing some tantrums in the beginning and endured some frustrating situations. The book is still interesting and unique in the cyborg/zombie scenario sense with tons of ammunition action, chemistry and camaraderie. Overall, o.k. sequel to the first book.
I couldn't give it 5 stars. I just can't condone any male dictating any woman's life through deceit and running roughshod over her. To me that is blatant disrespect and lack of consideration. That is not a decision made for love but for selfishness and self interest. That being said I truly enjoyed the seduction of this innocent, heart of warrior, woman. It was funny and had great world buildup.
I'm just loving this sci- fi serial by the talented author Lolita Lopez! Her use of description and her likeable characters make this ongoing story a very engaging one. In this portion of the serial, the heroine's home is overrun by zombies who acting differently than usual. Forced to flee with the two heroes, she ends up going with them to the cyborg outpost. I look forward to the next installment in 3 weeks!
Emma felt so deceived when she discovered what lay ahead for her at the Outpost. Her guys (typical of men) assumed too much and left out what should have been told to her right up front but no one planned on the violent zombie attack. Ms. Lopez description of the zombie attack had me biting my nails. What was up with those zombies?? Glad I don't have to wait toooo long for the next installment announced for 01/13/15.
Book Two takes up where book 1 left off. While not a fan of series/serials, I love the world this author has created. The book is well written with very good world building, and interesting and believable story line, great three dimensional characters (the three principals and many of the minor characters) and great sex. One of the things I like about this author is that she continues working and developing the story line as well as on going character development.
This picks up with a bang right in the midst of the zombie attack...and just like roaches they just keep scurrying in. Don't worry, no one dies...at least the living don't.

After her impromptu rescue, Emma follows her lovers to their own home...but it isn't a bed of roses as Emma's faith in Max and Jake is tested and she has a lot of adjustments to make in a very short time. It shows how different life is at the Outpost as compared to what she is used to....but no worries...Emma still has a lot of spunk left in her to give her men hell.

This is by no means the end as the plot thickens on just what is up with the zombies. Hold onto to your hats...it sounds like we'll be in for a bumpy ride....yipee!!!
This serial format is driving me crazy. Emma Part 2 picks up right where part 1 left off. But, it has been several months since I read the first installment. So, I didn't really remember most of the things that Max, Jack or Emma referred to. It is frustrating especially since I read Part 1 when I still had Kin Unlimited. So, most of this book felt disjointed to me. The numerous typos didn't help either.

On the up side, Max & Jack are still very sexy cyborgs and Emma is as feisty as ever. I would have loved to have seen the plot developed more because the characters are just so interesting. It seems like the serial format limits this possibility.

Overall, I did like the story & I will be buying the rest in the series. Outpost Nine has the potential to be a really good serial. I recommend it for anyone looking for a fast, fun & very hot MMF Sci Fi read.
