You can read the summary to see what the storyline is.

I mostly liked the tone, the pace, the New York setting, although I thought the set-up dragged too long. Jordan's got a crappy life because she doesn't stand up for herself, we get it.

I liked Jordan's wit and creativity, and I loved Travis and his lighthouse. What I didn't "get," despite the neglected/emotionally abused childhood, is why a woman with so much going for her would be quite so passive. The bad guys were a little too bad; they needed some redeeming qualities that would have helped explain her ambivalence at blowing them off. And the idea that somebody would be able to fake amnesia well enough to fool not only laypeople but doctors... pretty unbelievable. That she would then get REAL amnesia, AND that she would recover her memory JUST as she was walking down the aisle, about to marry the wrong guy... too many impossible things before breakfast, for me. I *would* read another book by this author, however.

Forget About It Caprice Crane 9780446697552 Books Reviews

I LOVED her First novel-Stupid and Contagious, so I had to read this one. I really enjoy the banter between the characters and the chance to start over again. If you have read any other Caprice Crane novels, you'll also enjoy this one.
Few books have made me laugh out loud, and Caprice Crane has written two of them. She writes with such a great voice, at such a fine pace, that while this book stole an entire Saturday from me, I might read it again tomorrow. I appreciate the intelligent story, the clever prose and the character development is fantastic. You'll hate the mother and sister, totally lust after Travis and wish you had friends like Todd and Cat. If you don't laugh out loud at the smelly foot incident, you're not paying attention. I hope she's writing book 3 as I type....!
This is a creative and original storyline, and the pages will definitely keep turning. I couldn't wait to come home and continuing reading it each night. The only thing is, it's entirely fiction, so if you're looking for some kind of intellectual enhancement, or a really profound/deep/moving/emotional book, you're not going to get it. It's light-hearted, and fun, entertainment.
Loved this book! This was one of the most fun reads I've done in a long while. If you want to laugh, read this book. It is not your typical chic lit. The writer, new to me, I thought was great. If I have anything to say at all is that there were too many italicized words, which was kind of distracting. I've never seen so many in my years of reading. But having said that, do not be deterred. This book was wonderful.
For me, the mark of how good a book is takes into account three factors

1. Will the book have me anticipating when I can next start reading it again after life rudely interrupts me?

2. If I'm reading it in the bathtub, will I find myself turning into a wrinkled prune of a man in a tub filled with cold water?

3. Does the book make me jealous that I didn't write it?

Using these criteria, I can honestly say that

1. I couldn't wait to get into the book, and actually passed up a chance at sex in order to finish the last few chapters -- an unprecedented event, by the way.

2. I managed a marathon four hours in the tub, constantly adjusting the hot water and draining out some of the cold, in order to keep reading the book.

3. When I was done with the book, all I could think was, "How in the world could I not have encountered this writer before -- and why can't I write like she does?"

Only a writer with total confidence can take the premise of a woman faking amnesia in order to give herself a true "makeover" and make it both plausible and entertaining. Few people, upon encountering Jordan Landau, won't see a little of themselves in her. (I even spotted some of me in her -- and I'm a guy.)

For anyone out there who wants to experience a book that deals with dysfunctional families, karmic boomerangs, finding true love, and just generally makes you glad that you picked up that book, this is for you.
I became a huge fan of Caprice Crane after reading "Stupid and Contagious". I went so far as to write her a little note letting her know how much I loved the book. The same day I sent her the email, I got a long response back from her and an invite to a book signing. Caprice Crane is not only a fantastic and original author, but she's also friendly with her fans.

I loved "Forget About It". One thing that Caprice Crane does that I love so much is throw in pop culture references. I loved the fact that Jordan just happened to see "Regarding Henry" right before her car accident. I don't know how many people got that reference, but I felt so good that I did! I also loved that Jordan named her cockroach. That has been a running gag in my family for years (I've named intruding mice, and once a skunk). Caprice's characters are so easy to like (and hate.... Dirk!), and they remind you of your own friends and family, quirks and all.

I'm eagerly awaiting the third book from Caprice Crane. I know she will not disappoint and she will definitely entertain.
Don't get me wrong by the 3 stars, I enjoyed this book but this was the last book read of Caprice and I do absolutely love her writing style but out of the 3, this was my least favorite.

Jordan really does need a chance to "do-over" and fakes amnesia to get that chance. What made me not "love" the book was the fact that she did really get amnesia at a point where I wished she would finally get the guy and move on. The booked lingered at that point and really spent too much time on the do-over of the do-over. She also spends WAY WAY WAY too much time focused on Dirk and I couldn't really understand the attraction of Dirk to Jordan's crazy mom and selfish half sister. The lessons that Jordan learned really out-weighed my irritation w/Dirk and the real amnesia and it finished as funny and perfect as Jordan deserved.
