What a nice story. This is a great contemporary romance book. A police officer in a small town had had a crush a pretty lady for a long time. One problem, pretty girl's brother is a frequent visitor at the jail house, locked up for various problems.

They have a past, something terrible happened to the pretty girl and the handsome police officer and the pretty girl's brother and the police officer (Dare) has never pursued the pretty girl (Liza). But he does get to see her when she comes to bail her brother out of jail, pretty often.

Each character is dealing with their own issues in this story and the character development is good. I just had a good feeling about all of these people by the end of the book.

Finally, handsome police officer Dare is forced into pretty girl Liza's life when bad things begin happening to her. It soon becomes evident that someone is trying to hurt Liza and Dare's protective instincts take over. These two are thrown together and their feelings for each other blossom.

But, there are problems. Problems that can be overcome if only they can keep Liza alive.

Great read. I highly recommend this romance.

This is the first series I have read by this author so I didn't know what to expect. I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, but this was my favorite. I was sucked in from the beginning and misty eyed more than once. Excellent job Carly and I look forward to more.
With this being the third book in the set about the Barron brothers I was really excited to read it but I was not as intrigued with Dare's story has I was hoping.while don't get me wrong it was a really good book it's just that when you compare the the it wasn't my favorite.
Carly Phillips is one of my new favorite authors. She draws you in from page 1 until the end and you are saying, no I don't want it to end! She keeps you laughing, "awing" and crying and begging for more. I am always ready to order her next book!
Nancy Deville has written a mesmerizing page turner that is impossible to put down. I made the mistake of starting the book at 6 p.m. and stayed up the entire night because I had to know what happened - to Meredith, Camiille, and, yes, even to Mrs. Pawar and Mr. Chandraram and Belhaj. Each character is a finely drawn portrait - Meredith's innate decency and generosity, her grit and determination, her beauty and charm make her harrowing experiences feel deeply personal and haunting. Mrs. Pawar's complex facets of self-indulgence, narcissism, and pathetic dependence evoke disgust as well as sympathy. Nancy has an uniquely perceptive eye for detail and nuance. I have traveled in Turkey and India and Nancy's evocative prose made me feel like I was there again - her imagery reeks of realism, and the book is a sensory delight. As if the sheer enjoyment of an excruciatingly well written novel were not enough, Nancy achieves a tour de force by combining evocative storytelling with authenticity in her knowledgeable depiction of medical symptoms and her perceptive commentaries on the Gita and other intricacies of Indian culture. And while engrossing the reader in a personal and emotionally draining journey, Nancy is simultaneously able to draw attention to the depraved underworld of sex trafficking with detail that can only come from diligent, conscientious research rooted in a social conscience. This is a book of rare maturity, grand in its eloquence, haunting in its imagery, with a message that touches the human soul.
Third book of series. In this book it is brother Dare' s story. He is the youngest of the Barron brothers, and the most affected by the death of his parents and brother Ethan' s desertion. He is, after 10+ years still dealing with the death of a boy during a party he attended as a teenager; his feelings of guilt have greatly affected his life and driven him to his chosen career as a policeman. He meets again and gets together with Lisa and their stories intertwined. It wad an OK book but very predictable.

I thought this book was great. It was worth the price and i stayed interested throughout the whole thing. I finished reading it in one day!!!!! Dare was definitely my favorite brother out of the Barron brothers. I look forward to the Feb 2013 books about Sam and Cara!!!!!
